Research: Trehalose and Inflammation Suppression

Summary of Study: Trehalose Treatment Suppresses Inflammation, Oxidative Stress, and Vasospasm Induced by Experimental Subarachnoid Hemorrhage.

Results

In vitro and vivo studies showed when cells were induced by a particular stressor, trehalose suppressed vasospasm, inflammatory response and lipid peroxidation.

Summary of Study: Glycemic, Insulinemic and Incretin Responses after Oral Trehalose Ingestion in Healthy Subjects.

Results

In a crossover study of healthy adults, blood glucose and insulin levels were found to be lower after consuming trehalose, compared with glucose.
