A retrospective study of head and neck cancer adult patients going through chemoradiotherapy found early nutrition intervention resulted in improved treatment tolerance and fewer hospital admissions, compared to those who did not receive early nutrition intervention.

A retrospective study showed early nutrition intervention according to a Nutrition Pathway protocol, had a significant positive affect on nutritional status, improved treatment tolerance/completion rates and fewer unplanned hospital admissions during chemoradiation among esophageal cancer patients, compared to those who did not get early nutrition intervention.
