Shawna brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in healthcare, higher education, and consulting. Her areas of expertise include operations, strategic planning, partnership development, alliance and client management. Prior to joining Enlivity, Shawna served as the Director of Grants and Contract Administration at MIT’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). There she led a 25+ person team, streamlined operations to absorb volume growth via multiple process improvements, and became a two time recipient of the OSP Director Award. Shawna also served as the Executive Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) at MGH where she operationalized CRM’s mission and oversaw the expansion of their multimillion-dollar fiscal portfolio.
In addition to her extensive operations experience, Shawna also has a background in business development and alliance management. At MGH, and in her preceding role at MIT’s Technology Licensing Office, Shawna fostered national and international alliances and negotiated contracts with startups, biotechs, pharmaceutical companies, foundations, hospitals and universities. Shawna also founded a consulting firm focused on new product launch plans, business plans for startups, and strategies for structuring and negotiating industry-university partnerships. Shawna received her BS in Biology from MIT, and her MBA from Babson College where she graduated magna cum laude.
